Who’s behind YRI?
You can’t imagine how happy I am to see you here. Honestly — it means the world.
Knowing you’re reading my words feels like a gift. And it’s one I want to treat with care. These letters will be shared mindfully — only when there’s something worth saying. I’ll use them to reflect, to tell you the stories behind the collections and what inspires this brand.
Thank you for joining this group of YRI Women.
I’m Raquel, the woman behind this adventure that started in the middle of a meditation, surrounded by other women, over two years ago.
Starting a business means planning, setting goals and dreaming big. It’s something I enjoy and that gives me peace of mind.
But when your mind disconnects from the present, when the to-do list becomes overwhelming, that’s when doubt creeps in.
A few months ago, I felt completely overwhelmed by everything I had to do. I got stuck. But life, in its wisdom, forced me to slow down. A small injury forced me to slow down. To focus on the essentials. To stop trying to fill every moment with productivity.
Living — and working — more slowly, without guilt, has become my new compass.
I’ve been shifting from toxic productivity to what I call slow productivity. Showing up in the present. Doing what matters — not everything.
We live in a world of constant scroll. Every second, we’re bombarded with information, ads, pressure to “do more.” It’s exhausting.
We’ve been told we should be able to do it all. Alone. But that’s a lie.
That pressure leads to burnout, to guilt, to endless checklists we never finish.
So now, I believe in something else: In doing one thing at a time. In asking for help. In trusting our own rhythm. In a slower kind of productivity, without guilt.
And in the power of women to hold each other through it all.
The name YRI was inspired by the word Caryatid
[Ancient Greek: καρυᾶτις, romanized: karyātis]
The sculpted women who hold ancient temples on their backs.
Because women are the pillars of family and community.
They are strong, they support each other,
they lift each other up in tough times
and rise together in the good ones.
This is what YRI is about.
A way of celebrating our bodies, our essence, and everything that makes us unique.
Thank you for being here.
With love,
YRI
